Robert F. Wilson

Dr. Wilson has been honored by both the Canadian and British Columbia Psychological Associations for his "Outstanding contributions to the field of Applied Psychology in Canada". He has published a dozen articles in professional journals, authored chapters in three books, co-authored a series of five self-help books for the Canadian Mental Health Association, and has been an invited presenter at national and international conferences on Mental Health.

Under Dr. Wilson, Human Solutions™ has grown from a two person Vancouver-based operation in 1979 to a global leader and one of the largest employee health and wellness firms in Canada.  Dr. Wilson’s past and present credits and distinctions include:

  • developing the first psychological health benefit in Canada in 1979 following 16 years service as a clinical psychologist with the   provincial government of British Columbia
  • twice past president of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia
  • drafted the legislation which registered psychologists in British Columbia in 1977
  • past president of the Advisory Council of Provincial Associations of Psychologist.
  • fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
  • chairman of the Applied Division of the Canadian Psychological Association
  • member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Psychological Association for ten years

Jean Gosselin
M.Ed, C.O., CRIA

Senior Vice President & Director & Quebec General Manager

Jean is Human Solutions’ Senior Vice President, Director & General Manager for the Quebec Region. He currently manages the EAP projects of several major customers, and oversees the development of special projects involving the deployment of professional services aimed at employees carrying-out high-performance, specialized or very critical functions.

Jean launched his first relocation counselling firm in 1983, just after graduating from the University of Sherbrooke counselling program. In 1986, he merged with Warren-Shepell Consultants, becoming a partner in one of the major Canadian EFAP providers of the time. As Vice-President, he was responsible for ascertaining and developing the firm in Quebec, overseeing the establishment of the professional network, managing operations, and facilitating major projects.

He then joined PROACT EAP in 1989 and became its president and major owner in 1994. The firm was rapidly recognized as the leader in eastern Canada, one of the reasons why, along with Bob Wilson, he actively participated in the firm’s merger with Vancouver-based Wilson Banwell (a leader in western Canada) to create Human Solutions™ in 2006.

Jean sits on the crisis management committees of National Bank of Canada, Hydro-Québec, and Sûreté du Québec. He provides higher-management coaching to customers on a regular basis. He is a current member of the OCCOPPQ, the OCRHRI, Jean is a member of our Board of Directors.

Craig Thompson

Strategic Growth

Craig Thompson is Senior Vice President, Strategic Growth for Human Solutions™ and has been with the firm for 6 years. Craig has spent over 20 years in the EFAP and Disability Management arena and has worked with hundreds of organizations in addressing their mental health and wellness strategies and needs. He has also worked with a venture capital firm specializing in business, operational and sales strategy for financial services and health-related companies.

Additionally, Craig was previously Vice-President, Operations and Sales for CHC-Working Well. He was responsible for developing and managing disability management programs and a health information service, as well as developing and managing CHC’s expanded range of behavioural health services on a national basis.  Craig earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, and a MBA from the Ivey Business School.
Greg Banwell
Ph.D., R.Psych.

Senior Vice President & Director

Dr. Banwell is Senior Vice-President and Director of Human Solutions™. In his role, he has proven experience leading and managing a successful multi-national firm. His professional activities include consultation to industry leaders on the management of change and human resource policy, organizational research for strategic planning, design of management development programs, the design of psychological assessment programs, as well as assessment of executives and senior management. He is a facilitator for organization crisis, key meetings and planning sessions, and conflict resolution.

Dr. Banwell has been active throughout his career in professional affairs and community life. He is a Past President of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, a statutory body, and has been on the Board of Directors of Arts Umbrella for Children in Vancouver for 17 years.  He graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa.

Yvonne A. Petkovic

Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration

With the organization since 2004, Yvonne is currently the Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration for Human Solutions™.   She is a multi-lingual, senior executive who seamlessly integrates the realms of finance, administration and marketing with expertise in the areas of financial, project and operational management, strategic development and implementation, and advertising.

Prior to Yvonne's current position at Human Solutions™, her most recent positions included strategic management consulting for an aggregate mining start-up as Manager, Finance and Administration and for a high-tech, publicly traded (CDNX) company as Vice-President of Corporate Administration and Communications. Prior to that, she was the Director of Finance and Administration for a Vancouver advertising agency, Dome/FCB Ltd., for eight years, and Controller for a Vancouver-based environmental consulting firm for three years.

Yvonne has completed Simon Fraser University's Executive Masters of Business Administration program, possesses a Bachelor of Commerce from University of British Columbia (major in Finance) and is a graduate of the three-year Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner Program.

Marie-Helene Pelletier

Dr. Pelletier is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Human Solutions™’ professional services and is also a coach on human resource management issues. Dr. Pelletier joined Human Solutions™ in 1996. She is registered in both British Columbia and Québec and is involved as a professional services provider to organizations in the area of psychological health. She has been active in professional associations and has been published in peer-reviewed psychology journals. Her work has been recognized through awards and distinctions from the Canadian and the American Psychological Associations.

Dr. Pelletier has been committed to services which enhance the community, including serving as a volunteer board member to a Vancouver-based, internationally partnered, not-for-profit organization to assist women in their efforts to return to the workforce. Dr. Pelletier received her BA and MA in clinical psychology from Laval University. She received her PhD and MBA from the University of British Columbia.

Jacques Sauvageau

As Vice-President, Operations, Jacques is currently responsible for the overall operations of our company, ensuring that both dedicated human resources and efficient business systems are in place to support the delivery of all of our professional services so that they meet and surpass the highest standards of quality.  He has been with the organization since 1996 and has been in the EFAP industry for the last 20 years, beginning as a counsellor and quickly climbing the ladder into different management positions in professional services, account management, marketing and sales, as well as business systems. 

Since the beginning of his career, Jacques has shown a keen set of aptitudes at being successful at doing a variety of things: a debriefer for close to 300 different crisis events, a speaker on numerous health and wellness related topics at local, regional and national forums, a coach to hundreds of mid to top-level managers having to deal with difficult situations, and has managed several of the largest accounts in the province of Quebec and throughout Canada.  Jacques is also well known for his experience in supervising the development of business systems and websites that are both user-friendly and efficient at doing what they have been built and designed for.

He received his BSW (social work) and MA (counselling psychology) from Laval University in Quebec.

Judith Plotkin

Business Development

Judith has over 17 years of experience in the health and wellness arena that she brings to her role as Human Solutions™’ Vice-President of Business Development.  She heads up our national sales and marketing teams. Judy is a former board member of EAPAT and currently sits on the Board of EASNA.  She has a proven track record developing innovative solutions for organizations across North America and has held senior positions in clinical and professional services, account management and sales leadership in organizations across the health and wellness field.

Judith has worked as a certified trauma counsellor and substance abuse professional.  She is a recognized industry expert and speaker and has appeared on CTV, 680 News and CBC-Radio Canada as an expert in workplace issues and mental health for employers. Many of Canada's largest employers have turned to her to help contain rising benefits costs while creating healthier, more effective workplaces.  She holds an undergraduate degree in social work from Ryerson University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto.
